experience here in MA. What you need to do is, as everyone else have told you, contact your local RMV and request a new title. What you also need to do is request for your local Police Dept. for an office to come by your house and fill out a VIN verification form. Then submit that to the RMV. They will do a state and nation wide search for that specific vehicle, that took me about 2 months to get back. Once the VIN search comes back clean, meaning the vehicle wasn't stolen and no-one has made the same request as you, the RMV will issue you a new title. Hope this helps you understand the process.CP
